Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has formally stated that Tehran "kept its word" following the signing of a ceasefire protocol with the United States. This statement serves as a response to Donald Trump's position that the agreement is now concluded.
Accusations of Breached Commitments
In a post on social media platform X, Araghchi accused Washington of a direct violation of the ceasefire, citing the reimposition of economic sanctions against Iran. According to the Iranian official, this move is part of a series of "wrong steps" by the US that undermine trust between the two parties.
"Let’s face it: there can be no respect if it is not mutual," Araghchi noted, emphasizing that Tehran has remained consistent with its obligations so far.
The Stance of Washington
On the other hand, US President Donald Trump has declared that the ceasefire with Iran is over. However, despite the termination of the agreement, the American side has left a window for diplomacy open, noting that talks between the two nations are ongoing.
