According to reports from Mystic Leaks, Google may be shifting its strategy for the Pixel 11a by equipping it with the flagship-grade Tensor G6 processor. This move marks a return to the series' traditional approach after the disappointment of the Pixel 10a, which shipped with the previous-generation Tensor G4 instead of the G5 found in the flagship models.

Modem and Graphics Upgrades

The Tensor G6 is rumored to bring substantial reliability improvements. While it is expected to feature the same PowerVR DXT-48-1536 GPU as the G5, this still represents a clear upgrade over the Mali-G715 found in the Tensor G4. The most critical change, however, is the modem. Google is reportedly moving away from Samsung’s Exynos modems in favor of the MediaTek M90, addressing long-standing issues with battery drain and dropped signals that have affected the Tensor lineup.

Display and Battery Specs

The Pixel 11a is expected to feature a slightly smaller battery at 4,870mAh, compared to the previous 5,000mAh. However, efficiency gains from the new processor mean that overall battery life is expected to remain consistent or improve slightly. The display will remain a 6.3-inch 1080 x 2424 panel with a variable 60 to 120Hz refresh rate, but it will see a boost in peak brightness to 3,350 nits, up from 3,000 nits on the 10a.
