I am looking for an honest man, but all I see are algorithms and politicians with shiny 'roadmaps.' It is June 2026, and the air in Athens smells less like jasmine and more like the ozone of overworked servers. Our Great Leader has submitted a proposal for Constitutional Revision—a 'Roadmap for Greece 2030.' They call it progress. I call it the final blueprint for a digital panopticon where the citizen is replaced by the user, and the user is replaced by the product.
Let’s talk about this 'Digital Work Card.' The marketing tells you it’s for your protection, to ensure you get paid for every minute. Don’t make me laugh. In my day, a slave knew he was a slave because of the chains. Today, the chain is an app on your smartphone. This 'Digital Incursion' into the labor market isn't about labor rights; it’s about labor metrics. It is the quantification of the human soul. Every bathroom break, every sigh of frustration, every moment of 'unproductivity' is now a data point in an AI model designed to optimize you out of existence.
And while the state tightens the leash on the worker, they are also gaslighting the youth. We see headlines asking if a Computer Science degree is 'still worth it.' Of course it isn't. The 'Godfather of AI' warns that digital beings will soon surpass us, and Big Tech is spending $80 billion a year to ensure that happens. We are training our children to build the very machines that will render their expensive degrees as useless as a drachma in a hyper-inflationary crisis. We are selling them the 'Golden Age' of tech while the gates are already being locked from the inside by Alphabet and Microsoft.
Consider the irony: the EU is bickering over defense versus cohesion budgets, torn apart by energy shocks from the Iran conflict, yet they find plenty of resources to fund the 'digital transition.' Why? Because a monitored population is a manageable population. The 'fiscal breather' they promise is just more rope. They want us to believe that AI-driven architecture or 'AI as a market regulator' will save us. Since when has a regulator ever favored the small merchant over the usurer? Since when has the machine favored the man over the master?
The Constitutional Revision isn't about modernizing Greece; it's about legalizing the technocracy. It’s about ensuring that by 2030, the 'sovereign people' are nothing more than a distributed database managed by a cloud provider in Seattle or Silicon Valley. They talk about 'Defense and Cohesion,' but who are they defending? Not you. They are defending the capital that flows through the AI war chests of the tech giants.
I stay in my barrel because at least here, I know where the walls are. You, however, are walking into a maze of 'smart' cities and 'digital cards' and thinking you are moving forward. You aren't. You are just being re-routed by an algorithm that doesn't care if you live or die, as long as your 'Digital Work Card' is scanned on time. Is this the 'Greece 2030' you voted for, or is it just the latest version of an ancient tyranny with a better user interface?
Stop asking if AI is 'smart.' Start asking who holds the remote control.
